Located in the heart of the University Campus, the Georgina Scott Sutherland Learning Centre is Robert Gordon University's newest open study space.

Designed with a student-centred focus, the Learning Centre provides informal, comfortable study areas to all students on campus, encouraging collaborative learning and group study.

Study Facilities

The Learning Centre provides various study spaces. Click the headings below for details on each space:

Project Rooms

The 3 project rooms are dedicated to student group work, being an ideal location for group meetings, project work or practicing of presentations.

Project Pods

The 8 project pods provide a smaller, more informal study space for medium-size groups, allowing students to connect and use their own devices. The high-back, comfortable sofas are ideal for group meetings, research, presentation practice, as well as delivery of informal workshops.

The Learning Centre provides 3 large, open plan collaborative study areas. These are suited for groups of 4 or 6, and also cater for smaller groups or individual study.

Seminar Area

The Learning Centre Seminar Area is a semi-open study area, ideal for large group meetings, presentations, as well as delivery of workshops, small classes and small scale conference-type events.

IT Lab

The IT Lab provides open access to 36 PCs, as well as hosting Library classes and drop-ins throughout the academic year.

The Library offers classes for different subject disciplines in using the library for finding information and research for essays and coursework and instruction on referencing. When classes are not running, drop-in sessions are offered and the IT Lab is open access.
