Cluster citations occur when you cite several sources at the same time.

To do this, put the citations in one set of brackets.

• Citations appear in chronological order (oldest first).
• For sources published in the same year, list those in alphabetical order.
• Separate citations with semicolons ;

The Max Planck Institute's Neanderthal Genome Project has proved the impetus for many studies exploring the lives of this group of hominids, as well as the Homo sapiens of the Upper Paleolithic period (Hajdinjak et al., 2021; Banks, 2024; Pederzani et al., 2024; Smith et al., 2024).
