The following are examples of how to reference Bills and Acts of the Scottish Parliament.

 

Acts of the Scottish Parliament

Cite an Act by its short title, year and 'asp' number in brackets.

Cite parts of acts in the same way as parts of UK Parliament Statutes.

Management of Offenders (Scotland) Act 2019 (asp 14)


Bills

Bills before the Scottish Parliament are cited as follows. Unlike UK Bills, Scottish Parliament Bills retain their number, with amendments identified by an alphabetical suffix (see below):

Example:
