Cases (England and Wales)
The following are examples of how to reference cases from England and Wales.
With Neutral Citations
The main courts of England and Wales use neutral citations, and these should be referenced where applicable:

case name | [year] | court | number, | [year] OR (year) | volume (if applicable) | report abbreviation | first page.
Examples:
Corr v IBC Vehicles Ltd [2008] UKHL 13, [2008] 1 AC 884.
RR v Secretary of State for Work and Pensions [2019] UKSC 52, [2019] 1 WLR 6430.
Without Neutral Citations
For older cases without neutral citations (pre-2001), include the court abbreviation in brackets at the end of the reference as below:
