Exporting records to RefWorks

From your reading list page, you can send resources to RefWorks in a number of ways. You can choose individual items, a section, or an entire list. The sections below will explain each case in turn.

Once you identify the item in the list you wish to add,

  • click on 'Item options' (ellipsis at the right hand side).
  • Next, select 'Export to RefWorks'.

A notification should appear on your screen to let you know whether the export was successful.

Reading lists are often organised into sections. To export a list section:

  • Click the section menu (ellipsis) next to the section title.
  • Select 'Export Section'.

Back to RefWorks

Any of the above options will add references straight to RefWorks. If it fails for any reason, check you entered the correct RefWorks details in the Reading Lists 'Account Settings'.

You will find your newly imported items in new folders within your RefWorks library.

  • If exporting a whole list or section, the references will be in a subfolder with the same name as the reading list, within a folder called 'Reading Lists'.
